here's to jeannie

Peter & I heard of Red Velvet Cake on tv one night and decided we would really like to try it, it's a chocolate cake that is red and has a cream cheese icing. We heard it's a southern thing so we asked Craig (our "relative" from Georgia) if he had heard of it. Luckily he had and even better it held a special place in his heart. His wife Jeannie, who passed away last year, used to have one every year for her birthday, her mother used to make it for her. Today in the mail we got the recipe for Jeannie's Red Velvet Cake, which brought a few tears to my eyes, and we are honoured to have her recipe and can't wait to make it. I know that every time we make it we'll think of Jeannie and I plan to pass the recipe on to our kids, Jeannie will always be with us.
